No, it's a silly idea. Just keep one slot open for a PvP character like everyone else.

It wouldn't hurt anything to let people create PvP weapons on PvE chars (the economy is based on what looks good, so don't bitch about that being hurt), but it'll never happen. If nothing else it'd be great as an option for heroes. >.>

If the created PvP weapons were limited to PvP areas, then why not? I still remember the cries of "unfair" because a PvE character could bring multiple weapon and armor switches into a match.
If you claim to want a level playing field, then stand by it: allow PvE characters acces to ALL skill unlocked on an account while in PvP areas, and allow them to create PvP-style weapons to use. Both bonuses disappear as soon as you leave the PvP area. THAT is a fair and level playing field, which is what PvP players have claimed they wanted all along.

Why ?
You can always roll a PvP character with the exact setup you want.

I've got no complaint with letting PvE characters use PvP spawned weapons in the PvP arenas, but I don't think its necessary.

Ok, then let's introduce the hypergigasword 20-30 in pve.
Is it balanced? Yes, you can always roll a pve character and use it in pvp.
Don't want to waste the time doing it? Well, it's the same problem.

Is this like the 3rd thread in 5 minutes about someone whining their pve char sucks in pvp? Stop making pve chars every day and having all underdeveloped characters. Focus on some and make them pvp ready, or save a slot for pvp.

I'm thinking... they could mka e this possible if the account had a PvP Pack...
That would be a reason to buy them if you have already unlocked all skills.
You buy the PvP pack, and you can make your PvE characters of that campiang create PvP stuff...
Anet would love making people have one more reson to buy those packs.

I would say that pve has the best looking skins in the game so who would want a pvp weapon. It would be nice to see mods and inscriptions for sale but however.

I think it would be a nice addition if Anet made more collecters items with prefix and suffix mods which were salvageable. In the same way that the "barbed ascalon razor of charslaying" at picken square is salvageable for the prefix and the suffix. A free barbed sword hilt for killing a few charr, gg.
I wouldnt suggest that they make all prefixes ands suffixes available in this manner, but the 'cheaper' yet functional ones would be nice. Elemental mods for instance or zealous mods, which could be salvaged from collecters items would be great, defence, warding and shelter mods would be nice too. They could possibly update a few of the collecter items in game so as they carried these mods and they were salvageable from the items. This would of course decrease the market value of these mods, but it would make them more accessable to all pve players as well as pvp players. Im not suggesting that ALL mods be made available in this manner but a select few would be very nice.

This has been pointed out a few times, but, I thinik it goes something like this
PvP character : lots of flexibility, but lacks on the looks. Can easily be created and destroyed and require no effort on equiping them with good weapon ( unless you unlock all from scratch using only faction)
PvE character: requires lots of Money and time to bring up to par to a PvP character, but you have a much wider choice for the looks of your character.
And I also beleive that PvE character are about character devlopment, thats why you level up in PvE
And this is coming from a PvEr that does a bit of PvP on the side

It's Pve.
Considering the PvE in this game sucks and is already short, I don't see why you can't take 20 minuts to farm 5k for a green for your hero, PvP weapons don't look like Fellblades and Crystallines, you know that right?

Again. Tell me the way to the collector for runes, insignias, mods....
It always boils down to the same arguements. Pveonlys don't want anything that's not about grind even though pvponlyitems won't touch pve in any real way. And pvponlys don't see the need unless Anet changes faction in way, that you exchange it for skills and physical items that are customized and will be flushed/useless when deleting the character.

You do not need perfect insignias and mods. Henchmen use no runes, plain armour, very basic weapons. Be thankful you have the option of customisation at all.

This thread can be closed now and anyone else bitching about "I have 8374698 pve chars and no pvp slot so I can't effectively pvp..." should be forced to read this.

Keep one slot open for PvP, or spend the money to make your characters PvP ready. Doesn't matter which, just stop whining. A change like this would waste anet's time.

Are you kidding? You actually want to make it HARDER to make a PvE character ready for PvP? There's a big barrier of time and money between taking a PvE character into PvP. Skill unlocks are the major part of it, but equipment is another.
If you want PvE characters to PvP (and I see a lot of threads about getting more players to PvP,) then stop making it hard to bring PvE characters in. If you want a fair and balanced PvP game, then let EVERY character who participates in PvP have access to the same advantages: skill unlocks by account, and perfect weapons. It doesn't "blur the line between PvE and PvP," it erases the barrier for PvE players who WOULD get into PvP if it wasn't for elitist idiots who believe that PvP-only characters should always be better.
Tell me, did you disagree when PvE characters lost the ability to switch armor mid-match, because that blurred the line between a well-outfitted PvE character and a PvP-only character? I doubt it, because one had an advantage that the other did not. This thread is asking that advantages are balanced out, so that no character has an advantage that another can not have. It's no different, other than this time, it's not for the direct benefit of PvP-only characters.

Henchmen? I don't know what you are doing, but I haven't taken them into gvg yet. And this is not about pve. In pve nothing perfect is really needed. You can slay the critters with almost every skill/gear combination, it's just about looking cool while doing it.
But regarding pvp this is not 100% true. In pvp form follows function. Between a major and a superior vigor is a difference. Same goes for having insignias and having none, etc.
I still don't get it why people don't understand what this all is about. There are already pveonly items in the game, items you can't use in pvparenas. Where is the problem of pvponly items that you can't use in pve on rpgchars? No impact on the broken economy, nothing. Farmers won't make less profit and pvpers already have everything they need.
And before people are starting to tell me "get a pvp slot". I have one. I have 10+1 slots, several pvpready chars and a pvpchar if my pve's can't do the job.
But I have also invested some thousand hours into this game.
So why do I engage in this discussion? It's because of the newer palyers. I know people who just have picked up the game, coming from an RPG-background. They are interested in pvp, but their primary and currently only focus is pve. They asked if we can take them on a tour through the pvpside, as they felt lost there.
But as rpger they don't want to waste a full slot on a character they will rarely use, and their rpgchars, that they have already put dozens of hours into, are really subpaar. With a real life and a job to pay the bills they will take ages to get a char ready for pvp and maybe the metagame doesn't want that character then? Who knows.
Some will now start saying "well, their problem". This would just show into what a sad state the community has degraded. And "their" problem can become a global "gw problem" when the influx of new players into the pvpcommunity gets lower even more. It has already gotten much harder to get a pug if not enough guildies are online.
From my point of view there are many who are held back due to this. And if they had at least the chance to try pvp on equal footing, maybe they start really liking it and even buying an extraslot. But they won't shell out hard earned cash, or delete a character they worked on for quite some time, just for testing.
